VODACOM VACANCY Job Title: Specialist : Financial & Retail Systems Reporting to: Senior Manager – IT Division: Billing & Information Technology (BIT) Location: Maseru, VCL HQ The job content is described in terms of job objectives and job outputs. JOB OBJECTIVES • To perform administration and maintenance of corporate ERP and PoS Systems. • To support Finance with all requirements needing systems changes and modifications. • Provide operational support and resolve problems to meet SALs/OLAs • Maintain a stable environment with high service availability and minimum disruption • Perform configuration management by maintaining docu- mented inventory of systems, software and their respective versions • Ensure systems security by safe guarding against unauthor- ized access • Provide management reports on applications/systems performance and similar performance metrics • Perform regular data recovery test runs to minimize pos- sibility of failures during data recovery • Integrating applications with back-end systems such as databases • Design and develop custom applications • Extract information for Reconciliation between Subsystem and General Ledger JOB OUTPUTS • Provided administration, maintenance and support • Implemented changes and process improvements to applications • Managed SLAs/OLA • Documented systems and compiled reports • High and secure service availability and minimum disruption CORE COMPETENCIES Skills: • Problem solving, analytical and decision making – within given time frames/limitations • Report writing & presentation • Unix/Linux/Windows operating systems • Innovation and resourcefulness • Relational Database Management (Oracle and MS SQL) • Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical customers/users • Software development • Software testing KNOWLEDGE o General knowledge of Accounting principles o General knowledge of all the disciplines in IT environment o Sound knowledge of Web technologies and tools o Knowledge of networking/ Internet concepts and protocols o General knowledge of the communications industry and related technologies o Basic knowledge of networking concepts and protocols o Sound knowledge of SQL scripting o Basic knowledge of Vodacom Lesotho Products and Services o Basic understanding of service management and ITIL methodologies PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES o Customer-centric o Approachable o Patient o Self-reliant with attention to details o Assertive o Disciplined o Articulate and methodical o Interpersonal sensitivity o Results oriented o Analytical thinking o Good business acumen o Resilient REQUIREMENTS a.Qualifications: • Minimum: Degree or equivalent in IT or any relevant tertiary qualification. • Knowledge of ITIL is also advantageous b. Experience and other special requirements: • Minimum of 2 years relevant technical experience in a sup- port environment is essential • Minimum of 1 years working experience financial Informa- tion Systems (knowledge of Sage ERP (L500), and Sage POS will be an added advantage) • Operational requirement could result in long/irregular working hours • Minimum of 2 year’s technical experience in GSM Industry.
