VOICE OF REASON: It is time to refocus, away from politics.... Our political class now needs to tone down its agitation for recognition, which is essentially what the dialogue razzmatazz boils down to. In other words, there is a very urgent need for the opposition to tone down the rhetoric of the last three weeks and instead, direct their energies to re-calibrate and re-focus to deliver a road map that can help take this country to the next level. It does no-one any good to have the entire country in the grip of a permanent electioneering or campaign mood. It is a path we must take when necessary – every five years. In between, we have fields to plough, children to educate, jobs to do, businesses to create and sustain, jobs to create for our youth and churches to build so as to help mould the society. In short, we have a country to build. To achieve these and myriad other challenges that stare us in the face, we need time, away from the drama and demagoguery of political shenanigans so that we can concentrate on the task at hand. There must be no time to delude our people using clever catch phrases and sophistry. Kenyans must not lose sight of this. Politicians owe it to us. Period.
