VOLUNTEERING AND INTERNSHIP VACANCIES The Rehabilitation Center for Torture Victims “Memoria” (RCTV Memoria) announces the start of the recruitment of volunteers and interns interested in collaborating with the organization in 2013-2014. RCTV Memoria is a non-profit organization based in Chisinau, working with beneficiaries coming from all of Moldova, including the Transnistrian region. The Memoria Center has been operating continuously from April 2000 up until now, and is an active member of both the International Rehabilitation Council for Torture Victims (irct.org) and of several other European programs and rehabilitation centers for torture victims. RCTV Memoria offers the possibility to learn new skills and build a career within the social, psychological and medical domain in exchange for an effective voluntary assistance to the staff and towards the implementation of the Center’s activities. We would also like to encourage people working in the legal field, journalism, etc. who are interested and motivated, to get involved in our center. Volunteering should last for a minimum of 6 months. The internships’ length will depend on the candidate’s curriculum. Those selected will have the opportunity to learn how an NGO specialized in the medico-social domain and an interdisciplinary team providing direct services to people in need work. This will consequently deepen their knowledge in their field of study and provide them with the necessary skills for a future profession / activity as well as with other benefits. During the volunteer program / internship, selected candidates will have the following main tasks: 1) assisting the team in the implementation of activities and organize various events, clubs of interest for the beneficiaries; 2) interacting with internal partners / external institutions or organizations that collaborate with RCTV Memoria; 3) performing other related and/or similar tasks. Requirements for candidates: 1) to have a minimum of 2 years of study or to be a current student at one of the faculties. 2) to possess a good computer to perform the necessary tasks; 3) to have enough availability to devote at least 12-15 hours per week to RCTV Memoria; 4) knowledge of Romanian language; 5) knowledge of English or French is an advantage. The schedule will be flexible and the volunteer’s/intern’s involvement will be adjusted according to the needs of the organization and of the selected candidates. At the end of the voluntary placement, the student will be given a document confirming the performance of the voluntary activities. Furthermore, students who participate will benefit from all confirming documents, depending on the requirements of their respective departments / faculties.
