VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! The Beaumont Art League is always seeking new active members for our volunteer team! Support the arts in your community! Meet new people! Stay active during downtime or build your resume! If you are interested in any of these activities, please call us at 409-833-4179 Invitation Addresser: Hang out with us for a few hours while we place address labels on invitations. Get to know about the league and its members. Easy going and great for people who must conserve physical energy. Tidying Up: Help us get ready for the event by cleaning floors, preparing the walls, cleaning the kitchens and dusting the corners. Soda and popcorn provided. Great for people with a tight or unpredictable schedule. Receiving Artwork: Ideal for people seeking to one day enter the art field. Help us receive and document entries as they come in. Get to know the artists and get a sneak peak into the show. Requires individuals who can multitask, and have good record keeping skills. Hanging: Help us hang the work! Also ideal for people planning to enter the art field. The success of the show depends largely on this person. This person is also most heavily complemented by artists who can recognize and appreciate good hanging. Must be strong and able bodied, must do a lot of heavy lifting. Will train. Gardening: We maintain a small garden with many statues, planters, and flower beds. We welcome individuals to spend a few hours in the garden weeding or donating and planting flowers of their choice (especially before big receptions). Perfect for people who find great satisfaction in creating something beautiful to be seen and appreciated by all. Reception: We always love to have a few extra people on hand to refill punch bowls, replace food as it runs low, and maintain the trash bins. This is very light work and leaves plenty of room and time to mingle with artists and visitors and enjoy the show. Comfortable shoes and clean pressed clothes required, no uniform necessary. Bake Team: Bake cookies, pies, cakes, cut fruit! Volunteering in the form of food from the heart is always welcome. Party Cleanup: The following week after each show, we welcome volunteers to come help clean the gallery by mopping floors, organizing the office, and beautifying the garden area. Perfect for people with a tight or unpredictable schedule. Gallery Attendant: During the month of the show, substitute in the office for a day! Ideal for individuals seeking to build their resume with solid office experience or gallery experience. Must answer phones to take messages and must greet visitors who come to see the show. Your job is to give them a tour of the gallery and provide some background information about the show. Schedule flexibility required. Will train.
