“VORTEX WEEKEND TRIP” The Lost Sea & Cherokee, NC Ohhh what a Weekend this will be! Talk about being in the Vortex ALL Weekend! Talk about FUN! Join our group, as we travel to the Largest Underground Lake in America, and the 2nd Largest in the World! – The Lost Sea, in Sweetwater, Tennessee. We’ll tour deep into the heart of the mountains, through ancient caves, and take a boat ride underground on the lake, which is intensely mystical and breath-taking! Then, we’ll drive over the TOP of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, on our way to stay the evening in Cherokee, North Carolina. This 2½ hr. drive, takes us over the highest point and most beautiful scenery, the Smoky Mountains have to offer! For one evening, we’ll be in the heart of the Cherokee Indian Reservation, with attractions such as Harrah’s Casino, which has top national acts and shows, gambling, as well as a special Open Air Native American Indian Market. Then, after a leisurely Sunday morning breakfast in Cherokee, we’ll drive back to Atlanta, Sunday afternoon. You won’t want to miss this one! A FULL (2) DAYS in THE VORTEX! Talk about a Blast!!! TRANSPORTATION: We’ll car pool together and share gas expenses within our car group. So, we’ll need to know who’s driving and who’s riding. Get your groups together! It’s 2 hrs. to The Lost Sea and it’s 2½ hours over the mountains to Cherokee, NC. It’s 4 hrs. back to Atlanta. We’ll meet to leave at 7:00 a.m., Saturday, morning and head back to Atlanta, around 12 noon on Sunday, arriving in Atlanta around 5 pm. HOTEL: Rooms accommodate 2-4 people (2 double beds or a King), depending on how many you want in your room. That’s up to you. If you want a Single room to yourself, the additional charge is $50.00. Location TBA. Details: If you don’t have any prior plans to ride or share a room, I’ll assign you to a car group and hotel room (assignment of 4 to a car, 4 to a room). For the trek into the cave at The Lost Sea, I recommend wearing tennis shoes or hiking boots, as we’ll be walking on dirt and rock surfaces, with moderate effort. It’s a very easy walk, with no climbing. DON’T WEAR SANDALS OR HEELS. Also, it’s a little cool underground, so you may want to bring a light, long sleeve shirt or sweater, but it’s warm enough for shorts and I recommend them, if you’re a “shorts” person. In Cherokee, we’ll plan some major Vortexing at Harrah’s Casino. LOL. This place is HUGE. There’s tons of fun here, including, gambling, shows, concerts, food, spa’s and more! The Native American culture here, is Everywhere! It’s a blast! All food and miscellaneous expenses are on your own. Must be Age 18 or over.
