VOTE Sen. Simeon Sule Ajibola for Governor Kwara state 2015 – An offer to serve no AN OFFER TO SERVE “Only a life lived in the service of others is a life worth living – Albert Einstein” I believe in equality. I believe in freedom. I believe equity and fairness should be an everyday affair regardless of status or clime. I believe in Education; I believe in a balanced society. I believe that together, we could make Kwara State better. I believe in YOU! I believe in ME! “Clarity is power” In my years in public service as a Senator, I have maintained the SSA strategy which is S – Simplicity S – Service A – Accountability This has driven me to achieve set goals both in my legislative duties and service to my constituents. As a result, I have been mandated to serve four (4) terms – three (3) of which came to realisation. In this period, numerous projects which will be presented have been started and completed. From Water, power and road projects, my constituents have enjoyed the benefits of SERVICE. Various empowerment programs ranging from financial to material have been put in place on a periodic basis to ensure satisfactory coverage throughout the Kwara South Senatorial District. My offer to serve is borne out of the obvious disenfranchisement being experienced by Kwarans. A few have detained the resources of our dear state and drive only policies that do not favour the good people of Kwara state. My goal is to change this. In sum, winning freedom for citizens of Kwara is worth fighting for; and everyone and institution has a role to play to achieve greatness. When you create an environment to unleash human potentials; great things happen. If the good people of Kwara State want a servant who will serve them as a Governor and make life better for every Kwaran, I offer myself to the service of Kwara State. In 2015 as we go to the polls, be the change you wish to see in our dear state. Say No to the same old order disguising as change . Speak out ! For, we all need a voice and the time is now – stand up and be counted! God bless you and God bless Kwara State. BRIEF BIOGRAPHY Background Distinguished Senator Simeon Sule Ajibola was born in Isapa, Ekiti Local Government of Kwara State on 4th March 1953 to the family of late Pa. Abdulkareem Ajibola Adeyemi and Madam Salamat Ibilola. Orphaned at a very tender age, he began his educational adventure in 1959 at St. Paul’s Anglican LEA primary schools, Isapa from where he proceeded to the then prestigious provincial secondary school, now Government Secondary School, Ilorin to complete his WASC in 1970. In rare academic performance, he was awarded Kwara State scholarship for his HSC (1971-1972) and Federal Government scholarship for his BSC degree in Quantity Surveying at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (1976-1979). He served the nation under the youth service Scheme in the planning Department Bauchi State Ministry of Education 1979/1980 service years. At first sitting, he passed the NIQS professional examinations and became a member (MNIQS) and later fellow of the Institute of Quantity Surveyors (FNIQS) in 1982 and 2008 respectively. He is a registered surveyor (RQS No 443) with Quantity Surveyors Registration Board. Professional Career By the grace of Almighty God, the working life of Chief S.S Ajibola has undoubtedly and enviably been eventful and productive. He briefly taught at Anglican College of Commerce, Offa, Kwara State, between 1973 and 1974 in what happened to be his only engagement in the civil service sector despite all the attractive civil service prospects for his profession at the time. He went into the private sector where he took off as a Quantity Surveyor and rose to the position of Senior Quantity Surveyor with QUESS PARTNERSHIP, Kaduna between 1980 and 1989. In his bid for self-employment, a principle he strongly advocates, he became a principal partner (Quantity Surveyor) at DESIGN COST CONSULTANTS, KADUNA from 1990 till date. Political Career Senator Ajibola’s political career came to the limelight in 1994 when he was elected as delegate to the National constitutional conference of 1994/1995 through effective grassroots network coverage. At the conference, he sponsored a memorandum for the creation of two additional Local Government areas (Isin and Oke-Ero) from Irepodun/Ekiti Federal Constituency to be created. By the grace of God and support of the people, the proposed additional Local Government Area successfully passed through Irikefe panel on creation of additional State and Local Government. He recorded another Victory as the Senator elect representing Kwara South in the aborted General Abacha’s Democratic programme of 1998. He counted this unfortunate incident of his inability to serve the nation as a result of the death of General Abacha as his own contribution toward the struggle for democratization of Nigeria. Senator Ajibola is counted among leaders who significantly contributed to the establishment and sustenance of PDP in Kwara State since inception in 1998. In recognition of his contribution to the success of the party, he was appointed Member Board of Directors, Lower Niger River Basin development Authority (2000-2001), his service there offered him the opportunity to ensure the sinking of motorized boreholes complete with overhead tanks. Again considered and appointed Federal Commissioner representing Kwara State in Federal revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission, where he served between 2001 and 2002. In a rare show of large heart spirit, and total faith in the will of God, the Senator faced keenly contested stage of the 2003 election and the protracted legal tussle in the election tribunals, and the Court of Appeals, where he was eventually declared victorious. SSA, The Man This great personality has been a role model and a beacon of hope, a wonder source of inspiration, always dependable, and a pillar of support, readily available to share with the less privileged, a man of resounding success in all spheres of life; yet an epitome of humility. His ingenuity is the basis of the admiration he enjoys across the state. In recognition of all his attributes and performance in his State and Kwara South in particular, he was re-elected in April 2007 and April 2011 as Senator for the Third and Fourth time and currently still serving selflessly and meritoriously in the Nigerian Senate.
