Human Resources Associate Primary Job Location Lagos, Nigeria HR Associate JOB DESCRIPTION Position Summary: We are seeking a proactive Human Resources Associate who would be responsible for administrative and human resources functions that support the mission of the church office including staff recruitment, employee relations, salary administration, benefits management, policy development and interpretation, HRIS administration, training and organization development while modelling the church’s culture of respect and commitment to service. Responsibilities and tasks: The responsibilities of the HR Associate include but are not limited to the following: • Responsible for hiring new staff including posting advertisements for open positions, screening resumes and applications, creating and updating job descriptions, setting interview appointments, and conducting candidate interviews. • Manages the performance management system and coordinates the performance management calendar of TEC. Coaches supervisors on communicating performance expectations and works with team leads • Assists in the design, interpretation and implementation of HR policies and programs to meet the mission and goals of the ministry and the church office. • Creates employee reports and analyzes employee related data. • Assists in developing and administering strategic planning initiatives for the Human Resources Office especially as it impacts the church. • Counsels church office staff, assisting them in dealing with and resolving conflict in positive ways. Provides discerning advice on HR matters and provides counsel on employment matters. • Assists in management of employee benefits including communication and problem solving. Programs include: Health, Pension, and Workers’ Compensation et al • Plan employee leave programs working with the Executive Pastor and/or Church Administrator • Identifies, evaluates and coordinates various approved training programs. Oversee staff orientation and on-boarding. • Interprets and applies employment related laws, status and regulations. Provides consultative services to the church and other departments in this area. • Researches, proposes, and implements policies and programs related to best practices. • Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements & Qualifications · Bachelor’s degree (BSc/HND) · Minimum work experience of 5years in HR. · HR experience in several of the following key areas: recruitment and selection, benefit administration, employee relations, compensation, , learning & development, HRIS and change management. · Someone with a great personality, hardworking, proactive and exudes drive and passion · Added Advantage: Membership of CIPMN and/or SHRM/CIPD · Other requirements include: solution oriented; ability to communicate effectively verbally, in writing and in front of groups, and successfully collaborate with a variety of constituencies; · developed interpersonal skills including demonstrated listening and conflict resolution skills; · Has the ability to exercise significant independent judgment and discretion; · Can analyze data, prepare reports and represent ideas concisely, both orally and in writing; · Is able to establish and maintain effective collegial working relationships with all levels of staff, internal and external stakeholders and church volunteers; ability to effectively plan and organize some of the day-to-day operations of the department. · Also requires strong analytical and problem solving skills, demonstrated proficiency in utilizing technology including MS Office Suite This salaried position requires regular weekday hours and some evenings including time on Sundays. Deliverables must always be met as a condition for this job. Participation in training workshops, conferences and special events may be required.
