Vacancies for Network Engineer Job Description: To contribute to the Operations of Information Technology and network infrastructure by being proactive in identifying incidents and troubleshooting them. Providing technical support and assistance to the network clients Accountabilities: • Installation and basic troubleshooting of network appliances. • Initial problem definition and troubleshooting by using diagnostic methods like ping, trace route etc. • Maintain cabling infrastructure in the data center • Maintaining wireless network to ensure remote access to end user. • Installation and configuration of IP telephones. • Maintains inventory of all network devices • Providing end user support • To contribute to the operations of network infrastructure to ensure absolute uptime • Provide control, monitoring and remote maintenance service for the network as prescribed by the relevant service level agreements. • Recording and responding to faults as reported via the case management system, the remote management and fault-reporting tools such as CiscoWorks • Diagnose problems and remotely fix them within the SLA or if necessary notify senior engineers to attend site. • Carry out routine network house keeping tasks as directed by the Senior Engineer or Operations manager • Provide statistics reports to the Operations Manager higher lever • When required, visit customer sites to conduct surveys or provide 2nd line assistance. • Root Cause analysis in problem management for service interruption and recovery • Proactive monitoring of the network management applications to prevent any disaster from happening. • Monitoring helpdesk system and taking first action on a ticket related to network infrastructure • Provide technical support for the entire IPT infrastructure • Provide technical support to the Call center application • Respond and act on the on call policies and procedures. • On-Call/After working hours support required Desired Candidate Profile Knowledge, Skill & Experience: • CCNP level certifications • Good understanding of Cisco IP telephony technology • Degree or equivalent course in Communication Technology. • Understanding and knowledge of TCP/IP • Able to configure Cisco and Juniper switches • Good knowledge and concepts of Switching and Routing • VLAN, VTP configuration and administration • Knowledge of Administering and managing networks remotely • Should be a good team player. • Maintains up-to-date documentation for all assigned areas • Diagnose hardware and software problems, and replace defective components Competencies: Self-motivated, dependable, able to multitask, flexible, and a great team player.
