Vacancy: Community Engagement Officer Provide TB and HIV screening and testing to peri-mine communities through. Other responsibilities include giving community education and making referrals to facilities for further management of TB and HIV. The position requires daily supervision of a team and reporting of their work output. The position requires working with multiple teams in different districts, working and travelling between different districts. The position also requires weekends and after hour’s work. YOUR DUTIES WILL BE TO: 1. Formulating strategies to educate the community about the NDOH Global Fund project being implemented in peri-mine areas 2. Formulating strategies for distribution of community information, education and communication (IEC) material 3. Formulating strategies for incorporating Kick-TB activations with the TB and HIV screening in the communities 4. Developing relevant reporting templates for ACSM activities 5. Overseeing the recruitment of community members • Participate in recruitment and retention efforts • Coordinate recruitment and retention strategies • Participate in community outreach and ensure a healthy relationship with the community/stakeholders and project clients 6. Stakeholder engagement 7. Identification of areas for screening in the communities and guiding the team leaders on working in those areas 8. Developing plans for doing Kick-TB activations, TB screening and testing and HCT with particular dates and place and working with the relevant teams to implement such plans 9. Sorting out permissions where necessary, for the teams to access the communities for Kick-TB activations and for doing TB screening and testing and HCT 10. Supervision of outreach workers, working directly with team leaders and the Site Co-ordinator 11. Overseeing and participating in the recruitment and retention efforts for relevant protocols on site 12. Supervision and monitoring of outreach work 13. Doing community outreach and ensuring a healthy relationship with the Community Advisory Groups and other existing community groups 14. Coordination of recruitment and retention activities 15. Organizing and supervising Kick-TB activations in collaboration with the Kick-TB Project Manager 16. Working within a stipulated budget as directed by the Programme Manager 17.
