Vacancy : Conveyancing Attorney (La Lucia / Umhlanga) Academic and Work Requirements : - LLB degree - Admitted Conveyancer - Three to eight years working experience in the conveyancing field The following qualification and work experience would be favourable : - Masters degree - Existing client base - Notary Public - Commercial knowledge Duties and Responsibilities : The duties and responsibilities for this position are detailed below, but are not limited to only these duties Administration : - Maintaining diary with regards to on-going matters and follow-ups - Capturing fees and working hours on Ghost Practice - Managing case load, preparation of FICA documentation, opening files and billing of clients Conveyancing : - Advising on property aspects of mergers and acquisitions - Growing the conveyancing department - Drafting and reviewing of transfer documents (may overlap with commercial transactions) - Identifying and assessing environmental aspects which would include, water rights, mineral rights, waste management, effluent management, licensing and local authority requirements - Lodging and registering of deeds at the Deeds Office - Attending to registering of bonds - Preparation of final accounts for clients - Managing of funds – investments, pay-outs of proceeds and issue guarantees - Managing legal compliance – monitoring case law and government gazettes for the month, compiling reports of what has been received, reviewing and sending out to clients on a monthly basis - Dealing with urgent matters in terms of urgent notices to clients when legislation is changing - Drafting and role-out of compliance and regulatory training manuals for clients - Vetting of agreements Notarial Work - Drafting of servitude agreements - Drafting of Antenuptial Agreements - Dealing with notarial deeds pertaining to property and property transactions Remuneration : Market-related Responses to [email protected] Vacancies : Regional Backlog Court Professional Assistants (Kokstad and Ixopo) Ref : BLCPA/10/2013 Port Shepstone Justice Centre : 1 x Kokstad Satellite Office 1 x Ixopo Satellite Office Applications are invited from persons interested to fill in the above-mentioned position.
