Vacancy: RIGGING STORE FOREMAN Applications are invited from suitable and experienced candidates for appointment in the abovementioned position. DCD MARINE (Pty) Ltd reserves the right to not make an appointment. Short-listed candidates will need to undergo an interview, as well as a competency assessment. LOCATION: Marine REPORTING TO: Logistics Coordinator MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & COMPETENCIES: • Certificated as a Machinery, Plant and Equipment Examiner Code 29 (Act 85) • Registered Lifting Machinery Inspector with ECSA • Computer literate at Senior Certificate level • 15 years experience in ship repair / port operations lifting machinery • 10 years experience as a Machinery, Plant and Equipment Examiner • At least 5 years of experience in a supervisor capacity • Good written and verbal communication skills • Must be able to show a track record of excellent attention to detail • Proven advanced skills with Microsoft Office (MS Word, MS Excel) • Rigging equipment tracking software competence, e.g. Field ID would be an advantage • Highly motivated DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Define an effective Rigging Store service delivery strategy for DCD MARINE operations • Ensure all DCD MARINE rigging tackle and under-hook attachments conform to ISO9001 • Conduct equipment safety inspections in fabrication workshops and on project sites • Effectively communicate with end users and Project Managers to assess project tool plans • Manage document control of scanned certificates to company IT network drive for SHEQ • Effectively communicate with suppliers of rigging equipment representing DCD MARINE • Follow up and document queries for equipment found to be defective while in use • Develop Rigging Store team members - motivate, build mutual trust and cooperation • Asses operational requirements and placing of Rigging Store staff • Oversee storemen in dispatching and receiving Rigging Store equipment via Tool IT • Carry out clearance with HR for all tackle to be returned on employee severance • Coordinate quarterly equipment certification schedules ensuring that all tackle are valid • Update rigging tackle registers, files, documents, certificates, and CMMS register • Quarantine of equipment not in compliance and collaborate maintenance requirements • Repair, maintain and load test lifting tackle annually to ensure safety and reliability • Perform store and/or departmental housekeeping • Contribute to the preparation of the Rigging Store budget costs • Submit a monthly report on status of DCD MARINE rigging equipment and tools APPLICATION: [email protected] CLOSING DATE: 19 July 2013 Should you not receive any feedback to your application within two weeks of the closing date, you may deem your application to have been unsuccessful.
