Vacancy announcement: Station Manager of Radio Sagarmatha 102.4 MHz Radio Sagarmatha (RS), owned by Nepal Forum of Environmental Journalists (NEFEJ), is leading community radio of the country. Currently, NEFEJ is seeking the Station Manager (SM) to oversee the administrative and business functions of the station. The station manager will be the executive of station under the policy directives of NEFEJ and Radio Board. He/she will be responsible for daily operation, financial management and promotion of the station. He/She should have sound knowledge on socially responsible radio and collective approach in media management. Boarder Job Description - Familiar with NEFEJ vision, mission and goal - Ensure the smooth daily operation of station - Manage administrative, technical, news, program and public relations of a station. - Maintain the working environment, personality, and financial viability of the station. Job Duties On a day-to-day basis, SM will supervise and coordinate the schedules/staffs, workflow, and responsibilities of various wings. Training, and evaluating employees as well as providing communication between RS board and NEFEJ executive. He/she is responsible to ensure the quality of news/program and other activities of the station. SM is also responsible for the success and financial sustainability of the station including fund-raising and proposal writing sales management, marketing, and revenues collection. The Manager must have enough technical knowledge to understand the operation and utilization of equipments available in station. Qualification Bachelor Degree with minimum seven years experience in radio journalism or 12 years experience in news and newsroom management. Candidates who have Masters Degree with five years experience in related field will be an advantage. He/She must have proven track record of fund raising and experience in Radio. Sound knowledge in project management including proposal and report writing is the most. Job Type: Service Contract Service Period: One Year for initially and can be extended.
