Organization URL: transparency.az Contact person: Nik Gurbatov Tel: (012) 497 68 15 Fax: (012) 596 20 38 E-mail: [email protected] [email protected] Date posted: 8 October, 2014 Last date to apply: 23 October, 2014 Job Description Job summary: The Grantees Manager/PR and Media Specialist will work closely with the “Azerbaijan Partnership for Transparency” (APT) Project Chief of Party/ Executive Director of the Transparency Azerbaijan (TA) in order to oversee the overall management of the APT Project in Baku, Guba, and Ganja as well as implement the overall coordination of other TA-run projects. In particular, the Grantees Manager/PR and Media Specialist will supervise the implementation of APT project by the four project partners, ensure that the project is administered by Transparency Azerbaijan with the APT project requirements, conduct public communication activities under APT project, and draft project proposals to ensure sustainability of APT activities. Essential Job Functions: • To oversee overall management of APT project by the four project partners (and the fifth, once identified). • Prepare sections of narrative reports to the donor. Concerning partner’s activities. • Ensure that the project is implemented by TI Az in accordance with the APT mandate, the Agreement with the donor and Annual Work Plan. • To prepare public communication materials, concerning the APT project. • To liaise with colleagues and key spokespeople; • To liaise with and answer enquiries from media, individuals and other organizations, often via telephone and email; • To research, write and distribute press releases to targeted media; • To collate and analyze media coverage; • Perform other functions as per Annex 4 to this Contract and Finance and Personnel Procedures Manual. • Prepare project proposals to various donors to build on APT activities. Job Requirements Qualifications Education: - Advanced degree in law, social sciences, governance, management, or other related fields. Required Work Experience: - Relevant professional experience managing and implementing successful, large, multi-year development projects - Relevant professional experience in the former Soviet Union and understanding of political and economic environment in Azerbaijan Knowledge, skills, and abilities: - Ability to effectively manage staff - Ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders from the Government, civil society, and Academia - Project monitoring and evaluation skills - Excellent English, Russian, and Azerbaijani language skills required - Prior experience in civil society sector or/and international organization will be an asset - Ability to use PC and main office programs - Strong speaking and writing skills - Good analytical skills - Ability to work under pressure
