Vacancy at Beekman Group Head Office: Senior Software Development Manager (Systems Programming / Systems Analyst) This Manager will be responsible for: - System Development Life Cycle - effectively manage the process and team in relation to system investigation, analysis, design, programming, testing and implementation of new systems and also maintaining, enhancing and upgrades of existing applications. - Project Management - effectively manage a variety of IT-related projects for the group. Core Responsibilities - Participate in the evaluation of business requirements and identifying technical solutions that improve the effectiveness of the group’s products or services. - Manage the planning, design, development, deployment, training and support of new systems/software and ensure that implementations and changes to current systems execute accurately and do not adversely impact existing business processes. - Assist with programming and providing technical documentation for new and existing applications. - Monitor system performance and evaluate operational support to ensure service level agreements are met. - Ensure the efficient use of company resources, as well as the secure operation of information systems. - Effectively organise and manage multiple assignments/projects. - Complete administrative tasks and compile reports that detail system, programming and project activity. - Provide performance feedback, handle employee relations, and guide and mentor programming staff. - Build relationships with external IT vendors and service providers. Job Expectations - Place of work: Generally, work is carried out at a business office; however, travel may be required to other business locations or vendor meetings. - Office hours: typically work during regular business hours, although special projects may additional hours or that they be on call for a period of time. - Familiar with a variety of the fields concepts, practices, and procedures. - Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. - Performs a variety of tasks with excellent project management skills. - A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. - Must work well independently and in a team setting. - Reports to the Information Technology Executive. Job Requirements (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities) - Required to have at minimum, a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field. - Required to have 10 or more years of experience in information technology and programming. - Experience serving in a supervisory/management role or experience leading a programming team. - Must be familiar with multiple programming languages (C#, ASP.net), networking practices, database structures, tools and technologies. - Must have an advanced understanding of various operating systems and environments, desktop support and vendor interaction. - Demonstrated track record of successfully managing large-scale system and project implementations.
