Vacation Part II: Geoffrey Zakarian has a couple of restaurants on the boat called Ocean Blue and The Raw Bar. Evidently he only comes on the boat once or twice a year, and he happened to be there while we were there. As I said, he needed two adjoining suites. We were in one so they asked us if we would like to move into the deluxe owners suite, the best suite on the boat, so he could have our suite. We were more than happy to do so lol! Rachel is a chef/pastry chef. They arranged for her to attend a book signing with him. We were all staying in the same private area of the boat called The Haven on the 16th floor front of the boat . We had our own restaurant, lounge, pools etc. Rachel received a copy of his book and a personalized signing. We chatted with him in his restaurant called Ocean Blue. He demanded my daughters get seated in his restaurant immediately even after the hostess said she couldnt seat them until 8:30. Sean and I didnt eat there; the girls did. In the Haven we had our own private fine dining restaurant . His had a $40 per person cover charge. Meghan treated Rachel to dinner there for her birthday which is Christmas Eve. Rachel said it was the best meal she has ever had in her life, which is saying a lot because she is a chef and enjoys fine dining. Geoffrey Zakarian is generally a very nice man, friendly, and approachable!
