Vacation taught me something...for some, having a job is ideal. - TopicsExpress

Vacation taught me something...for some, having a job is ideal. They are content to vacation once, maybe twice per year, if they are lucky. They are excited to have a promotion with more responsibility because it means they are doing well. If they want to elevate their current position in the world, they look at the standard options of back to school, new job, new career, self-employed start-up, etc. Nothing is inherently WRONG with any of these things. For others. For me, they are the death of my dreams. They are the collapse of what MY ideal is for ME...spending my finite time with those I love, more often, and more freely. I crave more, and not always the tangible. Its ok for those that are content with the standard 45 years of working, for the measured doses of time given to them to live. Its ok. But it is also ok for those that think they might want more. Its ok for them to look for more, to desire more. Neither is wrong, but both can be right, for someone. I dont want to have to wait 3 more years to see my cousins across the country. I want to be free to take that trip at any time, whenever I want. Or to go anywhere else I want to go, like seeing my brother in Germany. That, my friends, requires time freedom. Time freedom requires financial freedom. Im getting there, no matter how long the trip.
