Vallejo firefighters and an Engine from Benicia responded to a report of smoke coming from an upstairs condo on Stinson Drive in Vallejo at 10:30 am. Firefighters arrived and found the unit charged to the floor with smoke and began to look for the source. The fire was located in the laundry room and was knocked down, during the primary search firefighters from Benicia, Engineer Toynbee located Jake the Collie and removed him from the uninhabitable enviorment. Firefighters from Vallejo administered O2 via a K9 mask and Jake began to act more normal. Jake was transported to a local emergency vet for a check up. The fire caused moderate damage to the condo. The cause is being investigated by firefighters.
