Valley Light Opera sing along -this will be fun, people! Join us at Amherst Brewing Company on August 22! This is going to be fun! And different. On Friday, August 22, at 7:00 p.m., Amherst Brewing Company (aka ABC) will host Valley Light Opera in a pub sing of music from The Mikado, one of the most famous of the Gilbert and Sullivan comic operas. This event will be informal and inclusive; everyone is welcome to join in. VLO soloists will be on hand to tackle the lead roles, and the audience will be the chorus. A few scores will be available, but participants should bring one if they have it. Even if you dont know the words or the music, there is a distinct possibility you will find yourself humming along. If you havent visited ABC at its new (since 2011) location at 10 University Drive in Amherst, youre in for a treat. Its a huge venue (the space was formerly occupied by Golds Gym and Louis Supermarket) with a number of rooms and ample space for an event like this. Parking is a breeze. From the ABC website: The highlight of the new venue is a 100-foot, copper top bar with a unique leaf pattern and front molding crafted from African Sapele wood. We know this eye-catching addition will quickly become a favorite among regulars and new customers alike.
