Values are important - we all have them. At Take Me North, we have adopted a set of core principles on which to base of all future business decisions. It’s a matter of asking the question, “Will this decision exemplify the values I have for family and community?” If the answer is ‘no,’ then maybe theres a better choice to be made. With that in mind, I wanted to share these core principles with you, and to thank everyone who has already liked our page for your support and encouragement. FAMILY – Family is our most important value. We value our own family and our future employees families and the families who make up the community in which we all reside and conduct business. Without support from our families, the Take Me North dream would be impossible to achieve. COMMUNITY – The town, region, county and state in which we live and do business is a very special place. This community is what has inspired Take Me North to exist. Everything we do will be about building a sense of goodwill and unity within our communities. If the community thrives, then everyone thrives. HONESTY – Simply put, we will tell the truth - truth in advertising, truth in our stories. SHOPPING LOCAL – Supporting local businesses whenever possible is vital to our local economy. Local is a variable definition. Some say it is businesses in the town in which they live, others widen that market to include surrounding communities, their county or even their state, so we will encourage our readers to support their own idea of their local business community. EATING LOCAL – Beyond supporting local businesses, Take Me North will especially encourage support of regional farms and food producers. We are particularly fond of organic operations. PROMOTING SMALL BUSINESS – Take Me North will utilize our talents and resources to shed positive light on businesses and to help promote them as they start out, as they achieve certain goals, and as they find success. We believe in healthy competition and in collaboration. PROMOTING TOURISM – We live in Vacationland, but Maine has much more to offer than lobster and beaches. Take Me North will share stories that promote the region we service and which entice visitors to experience ALL of what Maine has to offer - even when its north of Bangor. GIVING BACK – Take Me North believes in lending a hand and supporting causes that match the companys values through advertising, press, or by donating financial support when possible. SIMPLIFY – Take Me North believes in a simple government, a simple business and a simple life. Why complicate things? Thank you for your continued support.
