Van Gogh Update: We would like to sincerely thank everyone for keeping little Van Gogh in your thoughts and prayers......it is obviously helping! Van Goghs condition became a little more severe last night as his temperature began to drop. We kept him on heated pads and he was watched closely throughout the night and we are ecstatic to report that this morning, he is showing improvement again. He picked his head right up this morning and thumped his little tail, and actually had the biggest meal that hes eaten yet- three pieces of liverwurst! His temperature has also gone back to almost normal and he stood up once on his own. The little improvements like this are so huge to all of us that are caring for this delicate little guy that so deserves to live. He is still very critical, and it is still way too soon to know whether or not he will survive. We will continue with the aggressive antibiotic treatments that he is getting to help him fight off this infection. The infection is his biggest obstacle right now. Thank you all so very much for your thoughts and prayers, please keep it up. Our top priority right now is keeping Van Gogh alive and getting him well, and we cannot take any applications from anyone wanting to adopt him. We have lots of other wonderful dogs that are ready for adoption right now, including Aslan, who went through a very similar ordeal that Van Gogh went through, so please consider them. Thank you all again so much for your concern for this little boy. If anyone has missed his original story, it can be found on our Facebook page over the last couple of days. We will update again on Van Gogh soon.
