Vandana Upadhyay (Bank PO in Indian Overseas Bank) One of the ardent reader of Vandana Upadhyay shares her success story with us. Read on... Dear friends, I am Vandana Upadhyay. I am very happy to share that I got allotted INDIAN OVERSEAS BANK as PROBATIONARY OFFICER. I owe my success to God, my Parents, family and friends, my teachers (especially Mr.Ravi Soni Sir,Interview Mentor at BankPower) and all those who were there to support and motivate me during my difficult time. I am sharing my experience just thinking that it may help to those who are preparing for the Bank Exams. “Success never comes easily and hardwork never goes waste.” Selections: IBPS I :- IBPS PO 2011,IBPS CLERK 2011, IBPS RRB 2011, IBPS SO 2011, IBPS II :-IBPS PO 2012, IBPS CLERK 2012, UNION BANK CRE 2012 Finally selected as PO in IOB. I have done B.TECH and MBA(HR and FINANCE). It was my dream to work in Public Sector Bank as it compliments my qualification and provides growth and stability. So after completion of my MBA in 2011 I decided to prepare for Banks and joined BANKPOWER for about 4-5 months only as my nearest center got shifted to some other place but I was regularly following their website for different updates and practicing their study material. In 2011, I got cleared all the banks written exams but did not receive any interview call from any bank as only few candidates were called for the interview from all the 19 banks. In 2012 I got selected in UNION BANK as CRE and posted in Varanasi but could not join due to some personal reasons. In IBPS PO II(2012),my written score was quite good(168) but unfortunately did not make it to the final merit list. I still don’t know the reason behind this failure. I totally shattered and decided not to give any further exam. But my parents motivated me to give one more shot. My father said to me that never give-up and always believe in yourself and study so hard that you will never have any guilt feeling like “thodi mehnat aur kar lete to ho jata” ya “ek bar aur try krte to ho jata”. One of my friends forwarded me a quotation which I want to share with you: “Doosaron ki apeksha yadi aapko safalta der se mile to nirash nahi hona chahiye, Kyuki makan banne se jyada samay mahal banne me lagta hai.” Now I decided to give my best till the time I am eligible and will never give-up. I gave IBPS PO III (2013) with full enthusiasm and thanks to all those who supported and motivated me to accomplish my dream of becoming a BANKER (PO in IOB). My strategy: • Always believe in yourself and never give-up, who knows that the next selection is yours. • Not important to do classroom coaching for a long time but very important to have the proper guidance and your hardwork. Try to find out your weaker section and focus to improve that. I was good in other sections but weak in GA so I more focused on GA. Thankful to BANKERSADDA for providing daily GA updates and also providing monthly as well as pdf files for individual exams. The interview guidance provided in BANKPOWER is very helpful. • During exam stay calm and confident and attempt only those questions you are sure about. Manage the sectional time by practicing more and more model test papers. Just remember one thing that if the exam is tough then it is tough for everybody and not designed especially for you.:) So just believe in yourself and give your best. • Always believe in GOD. He is always there with you and if there is any delay, it is just because he is planning something great for you. If my experience and words can help you in any way, then the motive of sharing it will be achieved. Thank you so much . All the best!!!
