Vanessa shares: As a sufferer of #fibromyalgia I get asked a lot How does it feel? or What are you feeling exactly?. At times, its very hard to explain. There are different degrees of pain and different people suffer different symptoms. One of my biggest symptoms is pain in my arms and hands, including my fingers. It can feel like pins and needles or if someone was pounding on them or electrical currents running through my body. As of right now, the best way for me to explain what Im feeling is by saying I feel like I am being pulled apart in different directions, as if I was experiencing rack torture from the middle ages. This pain never goes away but the degree of pain I suffer varies along with the type of pain. Along with the pain comes depression, anxiety, and exhaustion or insomnia. Try being so exhausted that you fall asleep at your desk but when its time for bed you cant sleep because any movement you make while sleeping hurts you. There is never a day I dont have pain. Theres just a difference between a degree of 2 or an 8 (which was last night). I am not saying these things for sympathy but because I want my friends to know how Im feeling and whats going on. Fibromyalgia is real, it never goes away and is extremely painful. -h
