Vardhanthi. Tripuraneni Gopichand (Telugu: త్రిపురనేని గోపిచంద్) (8 September 1910 - 2 November 1962) was a Telugu short story writer, novelist, editor, essayist, playwright and film director. He is especially celebrated for his second novel Asamardhuni Jeevayatra (Bungler: A Journey Through Life). This is the first psychological novel in Telugu literature. For his work Panditha Parameshwara Sastry Veelunama, in 1963 Gopichand received the Sahitya Akademi Award. This was the first Telugu novel to win it.
