Vargas Blues Band to release new album, “From The Dark this fall and showcase at HRH Blues @ HRH 8 Following up from last years “ Heavy City Blues”, The Vargas Blues band are hot out of their local studios in Madrid, with what looks like their best album to date. Early reactions from music critics and fans towards the new release, creatively named From The Dark, have been nothing short of incredible, which can only help spread the trademark Bluesy slide guitar style and song writing talents of this Hispanic Blues Rock legend. Javier Vargas is no stranger to large audiences worldwide, sharing stages with everyone from Santana to The artist formerly known as Prince as well as having multiple studio collaborations with the likes of Chris Rea, Frank Marino, Pat Travers, Junior Wells, Glen Hughes, Jack Bruce & Devon Allman to name a few. Javier Vargas will now perform on Friday 14th on the HRH Blues stage @ HRH 8 To see Javier performing with Santana click here youtube/watch?v=ZETwz0ySBuc Joining Javier will be Blues singer / song writer Aaron Keylock Since headlining London’s Charlotte Street Blues Club at the tender age of only 12, Oxford’s 16 year old Aaron Keylock is now a veteran of over 300 live shows, playing either solo or with his great young rhythm section, sharing festival stages in Spain, Holland & France with Slash, Joe Bonamassa and Black Stone Cherry. “We were here to see Nine Below Zero, but thought we might as well check out the support act. While we were chatting, a trio of teenagers (were talking pre GCSE here) had mounted the stage and ripped into a hard n heavy instrumental blues. All around us jaws dropped. Diminutive and fresh-faced, with straggly hair and wearing a check shirt and jeans, Aaron Keylock looks like a young Rory Gallagher - except that I doubt that Gallagher was as good as this at the age of 15. Boy, can that boy play blues guitar; fast and intricate, slow and heavy, the works”. (Word Magazine) Whilst paying homage to influences such as Johnny Winter, Rory Gallagher, The Faces, Rolling Stones and Blackfoot the 16-year old guitar prodigy has written over 30 songs including the impressive “Medicine Man”. Sporting clothes and hair straight out of 1974, he looks like Rory Gallagher and sounds like him on the hard rocking blues of Medicine Man, whilst slow numbers such as “One More Question” bring to mind Eric Clapton in his 1970’s prime. (Nightshift Magazine) Keylock is the real deal despite his adolescence, he is influenced by US mid western blues in a way that is both genuinely and shockingly authentic. He is an aspiring new blues talent unaffected by the mainstream media and marketing clichés. If you are looking an antidote to transient music celebrity you just found it…e and see him at HRH Blues. He has released two albums to critical acclaim, and is known throughout the european scene as a volcanic guitar genius with musical subtleties and a maturity far beyond his years, cemented when follow-up album “Burning Bridges” was voted Best Blues Album of 2012 by Blues & Soul Magazine. Fans demanded a live album, and Mitch obliged. Recorded in 2013 at the Cluny in Newcastle at a sold out show, the band laid down defining versions of fan’s favourites including an atomic effort of signature tune ‘Mr Johnson’, alongside new material that showcases their precocious maturity. Mitch Laddie Band Live In Concert has since been adored by critics and blues alumni, cited as a near-perfect mix of blues heritage with pop-funk sensibilities. He was voted by a throng of passionate fans to play the Galtres Parklands Festival in 2013, and was unaware until the festival organisers contacted him. Mitch is complemented by two extraordinary musicians in their own right: powerhouse drummer Matt Connor, and the effusively cool Rhian Wilkinson. With his rhythm section underpinned by a firm and genuine friendship, the trio are airlock-tight and are known for delving into ethereal, funky jams. Influenced by Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Johnson, Michael Jackson, Prince and The Police, Mitch Laddie Band blend a plethora of styles into a unique and modern take on soulful, guitar driven music. Mitch has it all: Talent, humility and a musical integrity that galvanises an international fan-base. Mitch Laddie Bands style is genre destroying. Many commentators have declared him the future for those who are yearning for an artist who delivers pure music: Find out why @ HRH Blues To see Mitch click here youtube/watch?v=tI9QH9MJ5I4 All three join an already explosive line up covering many genres right across the rock n metal spectrum, now we have a dash of blues hardrockhell hrhblues
