Varicella (VAR) vaccine. (Minimum age: 12 months) Children aged 12 months-12 years should receive 2 doses at least 3 months apart. Patients 13 years and older who are not immune to the virus should receive 2 doses and minimum interval between the two doses should be 4 weeks. Varicella vaccine is a live vaccine that is contraindicated in pregnant patients, patient that are immunocompromised, and should not be given to patients who have had a reaction/allergy to neomycin.
