Variety Exploratory Trip - Virtually Unpopulated, Fast-Water Mountain Rivers The Guyana Shield forms the northern border of the mighty Amazon basin. Wild rivers draining from this extensive mountainous region, are protected from exploitation by major waterfalls, limiting easy access to air charter only. These systems contain highly variable environments and many are full of big fish. Pescamazon Sportfishing Amazon first ventured into this region to make a preliminary fishery assessment. We were wowed by its variety, productivity and the size of its fish. We knew we had to come back to look further and perform a thorough exploration of the vast region. Weve since explored endless miles of pristine rivers and weve already caught enormous payara, pirapitinga, trairao, bicuda, suribim, giant catfish, peacock bass and more here. Now were inviting anglers to help us discover what else this vast region holds. If adventure and exploration are among your ideas of what makes a good fishing trip, then this one is for you. Warning - Exploratory trips are not for everyone. They can include basic accommodations and simple meals, untrained support staff, and unpredictable itineraries.
