‘Variety for Diners’ is Focus at KLGCC’s Golfer’s Terrace Headed by Executive Chef Arnold Kwok, Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club’s (KLGCC) in-house culinary team presents a new international menu that is armed with a healthy twist. Available from April 1, 2014 onwards, the new menu is crafted with good health in mind and cooked with the freshest of ingredients such as Omega-3 eggs, unsalted butter, lean chicken and sea salt, and features a variety of entrees and salads including a refreshing blend of smoothies and juices. Available from 7.30am to 10.30am, the breakfast menu features five items with each dish developed to ensure that it provides sufficient calories to start off a golfer’s day, including two selections for those who prefer a vegetarian diet namely the Baked Vegetable Frittata or Almond Zucchini Muffin. The team has also concocted three choices of healthy blended juices to accompany these dishes - Apple Spinach, Mango Berries and Citrus Kiwi, with the Turmeric Veggie Blend, comprising turmeric root, carrots, romaine lettuce, cucumber and lemon reserved for those hardcore health buffs. The lunch menu features a variety of chow ranging from a light Chicken Romaine Salad from the Western palate, to Thailand’s famous and exotic Green Curry Chicken. Other around-the-world choices offered are Salmon with Warm Tomato Relish, Steamed Sea Bass with Baby Bok Choy and Slow Cooked Beef Brisket, while sweet potato lovers can also sample Chef’s Sweet Potato Mash infused with a tinge of coconut milk and fresh ginger. For those on a low-carb diet, three tasty alternatives are available as a substitute for starchy white rice - Cauliflower, Mashed Sweet Potato or Brown Rice. To satiate sweet cravings minus the calories, the Warm Mixed Berries, made by sautéing a variety of berries with honey and mint served with coconut ice cream, and the non-traditional Sweet Potato Pie are options to consider.
