Varying the range of motion and giving your muscles some different angles and stimulation is really important in any training program. Im a firm believer that full range of motion for a particular muscle must be trained, not always full range for a movement however. Sometimes we can work through the extreme range by using different exercises for each part this is an example of that principle. Partial dumbbell laterals. Only working the bottom 1/3 of the range. These are sometimes called swings. Choose a heavy weight that would be really hard to do the full range with.
