I have Highlighted the same in below mentioned JD. Job Description The job primarily involves running validation/tests on various Enterprise Linux operating systems like RHEL/SLES. The job also involves adding test cases to automation test suite and enhancing the automation framework as necessary. The candidate should have at least 3-5 years of experience in scripting/sustaining/validating Drivers and/or System Software in Linux Domain. Principal Duties And Responsibilities: • Setup the test bed as per the hardware configuration matrix for the release consisting of platforms, peripherals, add-on cards etc and then install required software like firmware, BIOS, OS etc. Perform validation and/or certification as per the Test Strategy / Plan. • The candidate should be able to Install RHEL & SLES servers, Configuring RAID arrays, configuring/optimizing & troubleshooting the Lab network equipment, configuring/Administrating & troubleshooting storage, configuring/maintaining PXE server and Setting up the blade systems. • Troubleshoot system/component issues (HW/SW). Characterize, contain and support in Root Cause Analysis of the defects of reasonable to high complexity on multiple Linux distributions/versions. • Provide adequate technical details to the internal and external teams to substantiate the findings and drive issue resolution. • Automate the Testing/Certification/Troubleshooting wherever applicable using relevant development tools. • Build rapport with the vendors and the teams at Dell. Work in coordination with the teams to achieve engineering objectives. • Study new technologies offered by Dell and share the knowledge with team members through presentations. • Assist other Dell teams, as and when needed to resolve OS issues. Profile of candidates: • Should be very good in Computer Architecture, with good exposure to Hardware, BIOS, and Firmware layers. • Should have hands-on exposure to various Linux distributions, RHEL and SLES in particular • Should have good exposure to automation and strong scripting skills, especially in python and its must. • Exposure to Intel/AMD CISC architecture will be a plus. • Must have good analytical skills to trouble shoot technical issues. • Should have solid written and verbal communication skills. Experience involving day-to-day interaction with distributed teams would be an added advantage. • Knowledge of System Management tools will be a plus. • Should have 3-5 years of experience in the software/hardware industry. • Should be an engineering graduate in Electronics & Communication/Computer Science.
