Vaughn A. Muhammad with Shawn AlSharrieff and 18 others 1 hr · Atlanta, GA · Message to #NOIHipHop (a little lengthy, but worth the read), Supporting Our Own Media Outlets Peace, family. As promised, I wanted to introduce to some and present to others a sorely missing component to this musical movement we are all involved in. As you know, WE HAVE VERY FEW - IF ANY - outlets and platforms that give us an opportunity to get our music and message out to the people. We put our heart, mind and soul into our music and then most of us find ourselves only HOPING that someone hears it. If youre sending your work to mainstream radio looking for support teaching what WE teach, YOU CAN FORGET IT. I would like to introduce to you some very important media outlets that support this movement....and they need OUR support. Here are THREE entities right out of our own ranks that you should be listening to: 1. The Ahmad X Morton Show Brother Ahmad X has launched a YouTube show that highlights the best of what we have to offer and discusses important issues that affect the Nation with not only musicians but also policy makers, movers and shakers. If you havent heard his interview with Jasiri X, it is a great example of brother Ahmads professionalism, musical knowledge and insight into the culture that is hip-hop and the Black American experience. 2. The Hereafter is Now Network with Sistar Cassandra As mentioned in the shows description, its purpose is to raise the consciousness of our people. She has interviewed most of the people tagged in this post (!) and has a large following from coast-to-coast for her support of the arts and culture community. She is passionate about uniting the movement and seeing our artists be recognized. Her show can be heard on BlogtalkRadio. 3. On The Stoop with Queen Yonasda and Whitnee Layne These two sisters are the latest addition to Chuck Ds Rapstation array of independent internet radio shows changing the face of media as we know it. Airing every Sunday at 8:30pm EST, they represent the feminine side of hip-hop by supporting an all-female playlist. The show discusses issues that are not only important to Black women but women of color around the world. Support them by not only listening to their shows, but tell someone else about em, too! To all of the artists, THEIR SHOWS NEED DROPS! Side note: if you dont know what a drop is, get out the game. Hit them up and ask where you can send your music/drops to and maybe even set up an interview. Tell em DJ Rockwell sent you. #NOIHipHop #NOIDJs #BestOfNOIHipHopVol2 #AvailableNOW IG/Twitter: @DJRockwellATL Natasha Daniels Muhammad, Vinson Muhammad, Joshua Najee Muhammad, Antwone Muhammad, Jasiri Xtra, Dawee Jameel X, Lamont Muhammad, Matt Djref Knight, Gen EX, Jibriel Muhammad, James Muhammad, Nasir Shabazz Mutah Muhammad, Philip A Muhammad, Martin F.
