Vaughts Restaurant After 14 years, Vaughts Family Restaurant will be closing their doors permanently on Sunday, Sept. 21st, 2014 at 11 AM. We will continue to serve breakfast daily until then, from 7 AM till 11 AM. So keep coming in to see us. WE will be serving the Hooten and Hollarin Breakfast on Saturday, Sept. 20th 2014. We came to this decision after many discussions, thoughts and a few tears. The reasons are many such as, health and our age, the poor state of the economy, steadily rising utility rates, insurance rates, wages and government regulations. Two years ago we took a section of the restaurant and opened Vaughts Used Furniture and Appliance Store. The store is now 70% of our building. On Tues. Sept. 23 we will take 100% of the building for this endeavor. In order to do this, we will have an auction of restaurant equipment only. To be held Monday, Sept. 22nd, 2014 at 10 AM. Sam Downs as Auctioneer, OF Fair Play, Missouri. Not to be sold: None of the furniture store inventory or motel items. No walk-in freezer or refrigerator systems. None of the butcher shop and deer processing equipment such as grinders and saws. The refrigerated semi trailer is not for sale. None of the wall decorations will be sold. The motel complete with furnishings and restaurant building minus all restaurant equipment, will be offered, with a reserve. If the property were to sale, we will decide at a later date on the remaining inventories. We thank you for all the great times you shared with us.
