Venezia Necklace. My latest design that I absolutely love! Venezia Necklace celebrates the beauty of ornate mirrors that are found in the grand palaces of Europe and beyond. Venetian mirrors are world famous and much appreciated for their quality of workmanship. In the Palace of Versailles, France, the Mirror Gallery is a sight to behold. There is also a Hall of Mirrors in Nymphenburg Palace, Munich, and several palaces in India where mirrors have been used to decorate the walls and ceilings. Mirrors were expensive in the 15th century and the best mirrors came from Venice, Italy. The skilled glass makers of Murano perfected the art of making beautiful mirrors and they framed them in gold and silver, sometimes studded with precious stones for royalty. Venezia Necklace was inspired by the richly ornamented mirrors from the bygone era. The highly reflective pendant features Swarovski crystal cabochon surrounded by antique finish gold seed beads, crystals and crystal pearls. Swarovski cube beads in emerald green have been arranged to simulate channel set gemstones in high jewelry. This necklace is grand and full of rich detail.
