#Venezuela embraces Syrian Land..Love..Resistance exhibition Nov 21, 2013 #Caracas, (#SANA)- Land..Love..Resistance was the title of a Syrian plastic art exhibition which opened at a number of places in the Venezuelan capital Caracas and received hearty Venezuelan welcome. The Federal Legislative Palace, the Yellow House, the headquarters of the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry and the Caracas Museum hosted the exhibition with the attendance of representatives of various accredited diplomatic missions in the capital. Writing on his Twitter page, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro welcomed the exhibition, noting that the paintings displayed, which counted 57, reflects the deep Syrian culture. The exhibition is an opportunity to get familiar with the cultural richness of the Syrian people with whom we are bound by friendship since years, said deputy chairwoman of the Yellow House. She added that the exhibition does not only bear the Syrian arts message, but also expresses the Venezuelan peoples solidarity with their Syrian counterparts in this historic period Syria is going through. Director of Caracas Museum, for her part, said Its a great honor for the museum to host these Syrian works of art, noting that this honor is not just in appreciation of the Syrian arts value but in stress of Venezuelas support for Syria. The Syrian Ambassador in Caracas Ghasan Abbas said during the opening ceremony that the exhibited paintings reflect the Syrian peoples hope and carry a message of peace to the world, expressing thanks to the Venezuelan government for its supportive stance towards Syria. The exhibition opening ceremony included a documentary showing the suffering which the Syrians have to bear under the criminal acts of the armed terrorist groups , in addition to Arab folkloric dance routines and musical and poetry segments. Part of the exhibitions revenues will be allocated to provide aid to the Syrian families affected by the terrorists acts. The paintings were created by a number of Syrian artists and reflected the Syrian peoples adherence to their homeland, rejection to bow to terrorism and readiness to sacrifice everything in defense of their country.
