Vengeance: 2Th 1:1 ¶ Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: 1. A letter to the church of the thessalonians, from these three apostles. 2Th 1:2 Grace unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2. Introductory greetings to the saints there. 2Th 1:3 ¶ We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth; 3. Because the saints have overflowing love for each other, and their faith in Jesus is expanding incredibly, the apostles have no recourse, but to thank the Holy Ghost for this miracle. 2Th 1:4 So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure: 4. These apostles who have been heavily persecuted, find that seeing the results of their, and Jesus’s instruction in righteousness has given these saints the ability to have faith and patience in the trials of hardships and the persecutions has brought joy to them. Persecuted for the gospel, the death (repentance), burial (baptism in Jesus name), and resurrection, (the infilling of the Holy Ghost), and for living a holy and overcoming life, part of the equation that some leave out because it is not convenient for them- the once saved always saved group, a lie from hell. Heb 12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord 2Th 1:5 Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer: 5. Faith a gift of the Spirit, one of the nine gifts, and patience, Rom 5:3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing thattribulation worketh patience; a clear evidence and proof of the righteousness of God’s judgement. From all this suffering these saints will be found worthy of the kingdom of the Holy Ghost. Simply stated they have the guts to stand for the things of God. 2Th 1:6 Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; 6. Woe unto them that persecute you. Jesus is going to give them the fruit of what they have sowed against you, unjustly. 2Th 1:7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, 7. Rest: relief, from persecutions; troubled, distressed. When Jesus comes for his bride, the church- the ones obedient to the gospel- with his undefeatable army of warrior angels we will find relief with those who have passed before us in the rapture. 2Th 1:8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: 8. The sad fact is, those who never knew the Holy Ghost, and never obeyed the truth, the gospel of God will find themselves in a flaming fire of despair. This is God’s word and Jesus keeps his word. 2Th 1:9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; 9. Not a good place to be; the reason why we must be more than just active in reaching the lost; we should be in a frenzy to do so. 2Th 1:10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed ) in that day. 10. Jesus will find glory in those that have attempted to a live a life of holiness; the power of his Spirit, the Holy Ghost gives us this ability to live right in his presence. The men of God through their teachings of the truth of the gospel brought belief to the saints. Jesus when he comes, will find joy in those that have patiently awaited his return. This is our promise joy forever. 2Th 1:11 Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power: 11. Pray for everyone; through the prayers of the fivefold ministry and the saints we would be able to be counted worthy of the calling of the most high God, Jesus. Prayer is essential and the fulfilling is the work of faith, another of the nine gifts of the Spirit, the Holy Ghost. I thank the apostles that in this day i can be in the good pleasure and goodness of God; without their prayers i would have been lost. 2Th 1:12 That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. 12. The conclusion of the matter, is this: the name Jesus is sealed in our lives and in the rapture will be visible on our foreheads. All of our salvation is from the good grace of God, his mercy, and the greatest of the nine gifts charity envelops us all.
