Venue: CURRAGH Date: 24 May 2014 First race: 1.45pm (Seven Races - Flat) Going: Yielding Kingman, the red hot favourite who was second at Newmarket, bids to restore his reputation in the €300,000 Tattersalls Irish 2,000 Guineas at the Curragh on Saturday • Kingman was the name on everyones lips before the Qipco 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket but he surrendered his unbeaten record at the hands of Night Of Thunder and comes to the Curragh on Saturday seeking compensation for John Goseden and James Doyle. • Kingman has headed the betting for the €300,000 Tattersalls Irish 2,000 Guineas every since betting opened on the race and looks sure to be sent off the odds-on favourite. But Kingman faces some tough opponents including a five-pronged attack from the Aidan OBrien yard with his son Joseph choosing to ride War Command who won the Coventry Stakes and the Dewhurst as a juvenile last season. The in-form Dermot Weld is represented by recent Leopardstown winner Mustajeeb while Richard Hannon saddles Shifting Power who will be ridden by Richard Hughes. • The Great War has looked the part in winning two starts to date and should make it three from three in the Listed Cold Move EBF Marble Hill Stakes (2.15pm), although he must see off another unbeaten colt in the name of the Ger Lyons-trained Capella Sansevero. • The Group 3 Weatherbys Ireland Greenlands Stakes (2.45pm) is a fascinating affair as Slade Power takes on Darwin, Maarek and Viztoria in what promises to be a sprint to savour. • The seven-race card at the Curragh on Sunday kicks off at 1.45pm. Venue: CURRAGH Date: 25 May 2014 First race: 1.45pm (Seven Races - Flat) Going: Yielding The €300,000 Etihad Airways Irish 1,000 Guineas takes centre stage at the Curragh on Sunday with the betting currently headed by the John Oxx-trained My Titania • Twelve fillies will enter the stalls for the €300,000 Etihad Airways Irish 1,000 Guineas (3.55pm) at the Curragh on Sunday and John Oxx will be hoping that My Titania can bring him a welcome change of fortune under Declan McDonogh. • My Titania currently heads the betting at 100-30 with Paddy Power but she will need to be at her best to beat Lightening Thunder who was a close second to Miss France in the English equivalent at Newmarket. Aidan OBrien is always to be feared in Irish Classics and Palace looks to be his number one hope under son Joseph. • There is a showdown to savour in the Group 1 Tattersalls Gold Cup (3.20pm), worth €210,000 in prize-money, as Magician takes on Noble Mission who has looked a reformed character across the water this season. • The action at the Curragh begins at 1.45pm on Sunday.
