Verizon Experiencing Problems – 911 Emergency System is Down – Alternate Number Available Posted on 08/22/2013 Written by Cathy Herrick Big Bear, CA, August 22, 2013 – The Verizon telephone system is down in Running Springs, Arrowbear and Big Bear. The cause is unknown. According to Jeff Willis, Big Bear Fire Chief, the Verizon failure has also prompted the “911″ emergency system to be down. Residents in need of “911″ emergency service are advised to call 1-800-340-9110 until the problem is isolated and resolved with Verizon. This “800″ is to be used temporarily in the event of an emergency only.
