Vernoy is an award winning teacher who volunteers to conduct tours of the 9/11 museum in NY. Gary met with her on his recent visit there this last September. He describes her as a fireball of energy who drives a long distance to help the visitors at the museum get to know the stories of the people who were lost that day. I have spoken with her many times by telephone and through E-mail. She has pictures of Ann and a copy of her list as well as my book of poems. She draws on this type of information as she converses with the visitors at the museum. Her accounts of her days which she posts here are very important to me because I need to know that there are people who care enough to try to understand what happened that day and that their understanding will somehow make this world a better and safer place.
