Verse Of The Day – September 6, 2013 Psalm 18:35 You make your saving help my shield, and your right hand sustains me; your help has made me great. (NIV) Do you know what our churches could use a little bit more of? Courtesy among the brethren – love in the little things, love that says “please” and “thank you,” love that steps back and gives the other person first place. The same gentle love that our Heavenly Father has for us. It never ceases to amaze me how people so quickly lose their religion when they leave church on Sunday morning. They go to their cars in the parking lot, then cut people off in traffic. Sometimes the challenge begins when folks arrive at church…don’t ever take someone’s “regular” seat in church. You’re seen as stealing their “rightful” place in the worship service! Folks, stop for a moment…think about what God is teaching us and how He wants us to treat others. We can be mean sometimes without even trying…and we need to be aware of how we sound, act, and use our body language when around others. If WE will simply recognize what changes are needed, then we can pray that God will give us the desire and willingness to yield to Him and change. Then, this Verse will take on an even greater meaning! May God cleanse our churches of self-righteousness and pride. May He purify us from anything that seeks to elevate ourselves over others. May He start with me and you. Are you willing to let God – The Potter – to “re-mold” you?
