Verse of the Way 1-20-15 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. - James 1:2-3 God015 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes scattered among the nations,Greetings. To those of you believers scattered amongst the people of Southern California, greetings. To those who are called according to His purpose, now live your faith by remaining and abiding in Him, Christ Jesus our Lord. No one really likes to go to court and be put on trial for all to see and hear what happened. If you have ever been on a jury in a case, the judge will ask you to tell no one of the proceedings in finding out the truths that will presented in the trial. Best to obey the request. As believers we may face the same type of trials that people of no faith will experience. It is by our faith that we stand in the presence of a Jury of One. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. (vs4-6). The outcome of the faith trial will always be the same, if only we ask. It is time again for us to step out of the boat onto the stormy waters that He will calm for you as you walk upon the surface of the trial. The true test is whether you first see the storm or the calm that will come? Oh yeah, the trial is real and consider it pure joy when you face it and know the Jury of One is with you and has pronounced you innocent and holy. This is the pure joy of salvation. Got Sin Pollution? Sin No More! It is written, Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. (vs27) Is it possible for me, a believer in the One who set me free in truth and died for my sins, to sin again? Do I allow Sin Pollution to fill my soul at times? Am I in a Religion or in a Relationship? Thus, the reason for trials. Trials that we face are intersections where faith meets opportunity. Opportunity provides us gates that may look like the narrow gate, but may instead, be the wide gate that leads to destruction. Faith by asking for wisdom and the Holy Spirit to come upon you will make the choice of the narrow gate very clear. Sin is Sin. Understanding and Wisdom bring sin to the light. Being obedient in our Faith brings perserverance to walk calmly on the waters of the trial in front of us. James knows it is only by our faith that we can consider it pure joy. We are a chosen nation of people, grafted into the vine as a branch, with an inheritance that is promised and the Eternal room that Jesus is preparing for you and I. We are not living the dream, we are fullfilled in the promise. The mirror of our soul should reflect the image of our Savior as we bring the goodness of God upon others around us in faith. Ask, Be Filled with the Spirit, LoVe upon an orphan or widow and stay away from the pollution. InJoy, Doc Rivers May the Lord bless your moments alive with others to Serve!
