Very GOOD voting advice and information from GRACE IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR VOTING ON TUESDAY 1) There is a rule you must follow or else YOUR VOTE WILL NOT BE COUNTED! In the Primary, you are only allowed to vote for people in one party. If you vote for any Democrat, you cannot vote for any Republican. If you vote for any Republican, you cannot vote for any Democrat. The instructions on the ballot are small and not necessarily easy to understand, so we want to get the word out. The ballot will have all the Democrats on one side, and all the Republicans on the other. The picture above is an example of what the ballot will look like. This one is specifically for voters in Atlas Township, but you can see how the ballot is divided down the center with Republicans on the left, and Democrats on the right. If you stay on one side of the form you will be fine. If you are only voting to help the animals, and you haven’t researched other candidates, you can just vote for your County Commissioner and leave the rest of it blank. You do not need to vote for every position. If you want to see your ballot ahead of time, you can print one out. We have instructions in the comments area below this post that you can follow. 2) Please write down the full list of animal friendly County Commissioners and bring it with you. We have had several people think they are in one District, and then double check and find out they are in a completely other District. The map is hard to read and some areas are very close to several Districts. Your voter card will list a Precinct number, but that is NOT the same as a District number. If you bring all the names with you, when you sit down to vote if you have any unexpected surprise you will be prepared. If you want to be 100% sure, you can print out your ballot ahead of time by following the instructions we have in the comments area below. 3) Bring ID! 4) You cannot display any specific candidate name on your clothing, purse, etc. once you enter the polling location. If you have a t-shirt with someone’s name on it, leave it at home. But if you have one of those awesome black t-shirts from the rally, those will be fine. Ok, now go vote on Tuesday!!!
