Very Nice Folks!! **Press Release** The East Branch Rest Area, a state-maintained parking area along Route 17, will be the new home for a Visitor’s Information Kiosk; a marketing initiative of the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce. The kiosk will provide travelers with information about Delaware County’s natural resources, and recreational outdoor activities. Funding for this project was made possible through a marketing grant from the Delaware County Industrial Development Agency. “As the Tourism Promotional Agency for Delaware County, we are pleased to have received funding for this project from the Delaware County Industrial Development Agency. With 750 cars stopping at this rest area per day, we can now educate these potential visitors about what Delaware County has to offer,” stated Mary Beth Silano, Executive Director. The informational kiosk will consist of 4 panels covered with fabricated interpretive signs and 2 panels have signboards (for flyers etc) with locking plexiglass doors. Brochures, supplied by the Delaware County Chamber will be included, highlighting Delaware County tourism businesses such as restaurants, recreational opportunities for all seasons, places to stay, history of the county and more, which will be maintained by the Hancock Chamber of Commerce. This will be a great added amenity to the already existing picnic tables, dog walking path and restrooms.
