Very Sad news for a family living in The Ponds today with their eight year old son being killed by a four-wheel-drive after riding his bicycle on the road. Eight year old Jake Beattie was riding his bike when he colided with a four wheel drive. Paramedics worked desperately for 30 minutes to try and revive Jake but were unsuccessful. Jakes best friend Levi warned him not to ride on the road only minutes later to be in a major collision. Jake was well respected and a great upcoming footballer with the whole community in shock over the accident. The vehicle responsible impounded the vehicle and investigations continue.
