Very, Very Beloved Relatives, Yesterdays Gathering left us each - TopicsExpress

Very, Very Beloved Relatives, Yesterdays Gathering left us each in a state of suspended and total awe, wonder, and of deep, humbling gratitude. As we reflected last night about what we had witnessed - over 350 relatives from all walks of life gathered in the calling to do good in unprecedented, unified action - we smiled, laughed, cried, and celebrated. With his eyes closed in reflective thankfulness, Uncle Phil Lane said, This Gathering could not have gone any better. It was perfect. Thank you, completely. To all of you. Together, as Nawtsamaat, we are making this happen! We fully realize that yesterday was a test of our sitting and standing abilities! You all did wonderfully, and humorously, some very important bits of information were still left unsaid, and so we wanted to take a moment to relay those missed updates to you now. 1) If you didnt get a chance to sign up on the Nawtsamaat Alliance (NA) Sign Up sheet, you may end up missing some very important updates, including information for the International Rally and the Treaty Signing at Tsleil-Waututh Nation. You can still add yourself to this list by going here: protectthesacred.org/become_a_member 2) If you weren’t able to get a copy of the NA Membership Draft FAQ, all of the information for it can be found here: protectthesacred.org/alliance_membership 3) If you weren’t able to get a copy of the 4 Days of Action to Protect the Salish Sea Overview, which is being put on by members of Nawtsamaat Alliance, you can find it here: protectthesacred.org/4_days_of_action 4) A special and very important announcement was missed regarding the Alliance’s first Learning Circle, which will be with Mona Polacca - the youngest of the famous Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers - along with Hereditary Chief Phil Lane Jr, and renown youth indigenous activist Ta’Kaiya Blaney. This Learning Circle is taking place at Fremont Abbey in Seattle, on Tuesday, September 16th at 7pm. You won’t want to miss it! 5) And lastly, it is becoming increasingly clear that many of us - of all backgrounds and ages - are missing ceremony, rites of passage, and an overall culture of meaning. People long for this substance and connection, and it has been proven to be one of the greatest ways to build trusting relationships with one another, experience profound personal growth and transformation, and successfully do this work together. So why wouldn’t we do this?! Stay tuned for updates on a Sweat Lodge to be built in the near future, along with other sacred spaces and Learning Circles. We want to leave you, for the time being, with a dose of good medicine in the form of music. The song is called “Aloha Ke Akua”, meaning “Breath of Life,” and is by Nahko Bear and Medicine for the People. There are stirrings of a possible Nawtsamaat concert to happen at some time in the foreseeable future. We would love to have Medicine for the People perform as the headline act. Listen to their music and learn more about them, and you’ll soon see why! Truly, we are excited, humbled, and honored to stand alongside you. Thank you for all the goodness you bring to this incredible collective unfolding. Many Loving and Heartfelt Thanks, Joey Crotty with Hereditary Chief Phil Lane Jr. Sundance Chief Rueben George Lacey Ryan Qualls T Anne Jon Ramer
