Very busy morning. Off to see Dr Brooks Animal Clinic with Chatter for a consult. Thank you Bonnie Flowers for keeping me company - was too funny you had a 945 appt and I had a 930 appt . After looking at her xrays send over from Wilsons - and examining her, je did not feel it was ileopsoas , his diagnosis (sp) lumbar sacral complex Spondylolisthesis. She has a spot of arthritis on her spine which when he pressed on it, her leg shot up. It has probably been bothering her but the jump and twist she does to get in the chair with John and get in her spot may have caused it to inflame. He needed another xray but his machine wasnt working so I ran her over to Wilson Veterinary Hospital (Thanks again Bonnie for stopping there!) and they took a different view than the one the other day, Now hindsight is 20/20. Chatter has always been a pretty healthy dog, but now that I look back at 2013 - there many have been signs of this. She went swimming at the lakehouse and the next day she was a little lame. Lasted a few days and gone. Twice she came up lame (front leg,,tho) after a run in agility. Only noticed it when she first got up and after a warm up it was gone. Exam and took xrays of her front leg and nothing showed up. But if her back is hurting and she is using her front more than her rear, that would make sense, Twice I thought she had swimmers tail right after a bath or out in the rain - lasted a few days - then gone. Arched back, tail down, didnt want to jump on bed. But a few days later, back to her old normal self. And to add to that - the past 3 weeks she has been acting like a puppy including running around the back yard like a loon with Rookie hot in pursuit, something she is not used to! Running, turning, wrestling, getting bull dozed by Rookie. So that may have injured or aggravated it. So chiro adjustments and some acupuncture are in the near future, anti inflammatory drups and additional glus/cond. Wait and see and then go from there. She was better last night with a little more spring in her step but that was day 3 of Medicam. Did not give her anything today and now that we are home she is pretty sore. Didnt even want to come out of the truck and now she is in her bed and I offered her a cookie and she just looked at me like - nope, not leaving here, I am comfy. Gave her her meds and I hope by tonight she will feel better. Hope he is correct and hope she feels better soon. I hate my little girl feeling bad! Sigh................ but on the flip side, she did like Bonnies new puppy and they are good friends now!
