Very cool--and finally--the Death Valley Racetrack Playa rocks are caught in the act of moving! The rocks slide due to a combination of rain, ice, and wind. Full research paper at the link below. Ive been out there several times. The sliding rocks can be as small as pebbles or boulders the size of a small desk and they leave tracks all over the southern end of the playa. The Racetrack Playa is a very lonely and remote place. The times Ive been out there I was traveling alone. Its kinda of creepy and sends a chill up your spine. Have you been to the Racetrack Playa?
