Very cool news for me....yay!!! As an advanced stage metastatic breast cancer patient, I have been asked to speak at a medical summit in Washington DC as one of three patients giving their perspective of the use of echocardiograms during treatment. I am so honored :) This is copied from information sent to me...below. The title of the event is Value-Based Healthcare: Summit 2014, The Role of Cardiovascular Ultrasound in the New Paradigm; the theme will be value-based healthcare, with a secondary focus on how cardiovascular ultrasound can provide the value choice in cardiac imaging for healthcare delivery systems, as well as for cardiovascular research. The invitation-only audience will include legislators and staffers, private and governmental payers, clinicians, patients and patient advocates, researchers, and industry representatives. Yikes....this is like real shit!!! Lol! On other good news ..... Pap is finally home from the hospital!!!! He is so very weak and still sick....it truly breaks my heart to watch him suffer :(. My mother is a saint and may just be the strongest woman I know. It has been a long four years for her! More good news... Crazy I know right..haha.. Another round of scans last week for potential metastatic disease....all clean!!!!!! Yay!!! Things are crazy as ever at the Isenberg hacienda.... But moving on. :) I am blessed in many ways....which is sometimes easy to forget while swimming through shit. :) haha.
