Very disconcerting, not to mention pitiful. It was very clear during the debates with McCain in 2008 that Obama not only could not tell the difference between what is tactical and what is strategic but that he had no other understanding of anything military. It seems he confuses a strategy to defeat a declared and at war enemy of the U.S. and humanity with a tactic to save him politically in the U.S. But this is a good moment to contrast CNN and FOX headlines at the moment and their reports. CNN headline: Obama: U.S. will destroy ISIS (main page) (But buried in the report it quotes, Our objective is clear. That is to degrade and destroy). Nowhere in the report says that the president also said that ISIS is a manageable problem. FOX: Conflicting Signals? Obama vows to ‘destroy’ ISIS, make it ‘manageable’ (Degrade and destroy ISIS— but lets keep it manageable) CNN is clearly the choice of the low information voter. cnn/
