Very few people outside of the 1st Cav. knew of the existence of these four ACH 47 experimental gunships used in Vietnam. They were known as Guns A Go Go, a component of the 228 ASHB. When these big boys went into action they brought a serious ass kicking with them. In January 1968, when the 1st Cav. moved north, Birth Control and Easy Money were the only two remaining from the original four gunships. In the video it said that the unit was deactivated in 1967. The fact is the deactivation of the unit was caused by Birth Control being shot down north of Hue in late February 1968, during the Tet Offence. The crew was rescued, but before Birth Control could be recovered it was totally destroyed by NVA mortar. With only Easy Money remaining the unit was officially deactivated in March 1968. Years later Easy Money was located, restored and is now on permanent display at the Redstone Arsenal in Alabama. youtube/watch?v=WttpWwcSjy4
