Very few realize that Cesar Chavez (the Hispanic civil rights leader) was strongly opposed to amnesty. Why?? Because he was trying to unionize Latino labor force for better pay and benefits. He knew that other Latinos coming across the boarder would uncut the Latino Americans living here fighting to unionize as they would accept the poor working conditions and low pay just to have a job period. He also led an organization to hunt down and track those coming across the southern boarder and see to it they were deported or scared them to leave.
