Very few things have broken my heart more than spending time with elderly people at nursing homes. I usually have to prepare myself before I go in so I dont let them see how affected I get. I am not able to comprehend how so many people can throw their parents and grand parents at nursing homes, to be treated and mistreated by strangers and never even go see them. Ok some parents are evil, but not all of them. Some of the people I have met were discarded because they could no longer care for themselves. They were no longer useful. Became a burden. I believe nothing more in life than our obligation to care for our elderly they go back in the infancy stages. Thats why we work so hard, its all so we can be there for ourselves and for them, because that time will come. Its them today, and if alive, you tomorrow. Whatever you do in life, I hope youre making your parents proud.
